Description: Given to the Rosenberg Library by David Moore, this home movie captures the Moore family of Galveston before and after Hurricane Carla hit the Texas coast in September 1961. Members of the family first watch as swelling waves break over the Galveston Seawall. Retreating to their home, the Moores observe the howling wind and rain, later playing in the floodwaters with the family dog. After the hurricane passes, the Moore family drives around Galveston to survey the damage and capture clean-up efforts.
