Description: An incentive film that illustrates the advantages of the recorder for developing a child's natural bent toward musical expression. "The Recorder" opens with a first lesson in an elementary classroom. It shows the virtues of the instrument--its portability, inexpensiveness, and simplicity. By the end of the session the children are able to play a complete tune. Later, high school students demonstrate different kinds of recorders in an actual rehearsal.
