Examines the progressive candidates in the election of 1912 using early motion picture footage of Woodrow Wilson, William Howard Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt. Explains that the great depression of the 1930s created the political climate in which much of the legislation proposed by the progressives was finally enacted into law.
