Description: The owl and the lemming in this animated film are short-legged, plumpy stuffed puppets made of seal skin by Inuit artists. The accompanying song and voices are in Inuktitut, although the legend is narrated in English. The story in which an owl hunts a lemming will appeal to all audiences, especially children. Moreover, it preserves on film an example of Inuit folklore that may in time disappear.

A fur covered owl hunts a lemming in the desert . He pummels the fuzzy lemming. The lemming sings a flattering song for the owl. He tells the owl that he is a wonderful dancer. The lemming convinces the owl into to looking up at the sky while he dances so that he can make his escape. The owl realizes his mistake only after being suckered. His look alike owl wife chastises him for being too easily flattered. Characters made of seal fur sing and dance.
