The Mammalian heart

Description: Episode number 11 of Series “The Web of life”. Illustrates the structure and functioning of the mammalian heart by using the hearts of a sheep and a dog as examples. The sheep’s heart is used to show external features and internal structure, while the appearance of a living heart is seen during a chest operation on a dog at a veterinary clinic. The passage of blood through the heart, lungs and major vessels is observed through X-ray process. Suitable for upper secondary level.
