Description: Join Kraft alongside Hank & Susie for this film showcasing some very 1950s stereotypes and views of roles in the household...Maybe learn a thing or two about cooking, too. Or just vague instructions about Welsh rabbit- but that's what the "magic ingredient" is for! This film was before the famous Kraft singles existed, and was before Kraft was even it's own company. This was another film where there's no information available. I couldn't even come across a mention of "Pictorial Service" having produced a film at all. Date code of the film is 1958. Based on the aunt being mentioned as a home economics teacher, I think it is very likely Kraft provided this film for free to schools to be shown in a home ec class, probably alongside giving out recipe cards. It also seems that the food history lessons they give probably aren't too reliable... Film was on red faded Eastman Color stock and the film also had quite a lot of pitting/scratching, fairly extensively corrected to restore color and improve presentation. I was planning to do another cleanup pass on it, but my editing software just kept crashing. Not a particularly sharp print, as common for old Eastman Color. After the fact I noticed I somehow bumped up the blue slider up to max, which is why some of the blue artifacts are visible, particularly on edges and some noise in the bottom right. *Please reach out regarding licensing of corrected scan* Fully closed-captioned. Credits: Produced by Pictorial Service, Inc. Frank C. Peterson - Writer & Director Film Editor - Paul Polishuk
