Description: Through the intimate stories of four women's lives, the film presents how the medical community, the media and the values of society at large perpetuate alcoholism and prescription drug abuse in women. The film combines scholarly, social and historical analysis with poignant personal interviews, bringing to public attention a hidden aspect of women's health. Note This film has been preserved by the Reserve Film and Video Collection of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, with funding from the Women’s Film Preservation Fund of New York Women in Film and Television.
