Covers the history of the New York City cigar shop, and its rise and decline, using photographs to augment the interviews of the people in the shops. Covers a variety of topics in addition to the art of cigar rolling, such as the political role of cigar making in terms of unions, education, the mixing of cultures at the core of the craft, and the continued use of Spanish by the rollers in New York City.
