Description: This home movie documents the Jeoffroy Manufacturing, Inc. plow factory in Amarillo in 1958. It captures scenes of the manufacturing process, the warehouse and factory grounds, and a demonstration of a new plow. After finding that standard tandem-disc plows left turned land flat, Jeoffroy was one of two Amarillo-based manufacturing companies that developed chisel plows with spring shanks that left crop residue on the surface, thereby reducing the risk of wind erosion.
