Episode of Series “We Make Music”. This film briefly outlines the history of the guitar through a period of six thousand years. Guitarist John Williams examines the construction of the instrument; describes the nature and tuning of the strings, placing of the frets, and demonstrates all the varieties of sound possible using music by Bach, Paganini, Weber and Schubert. Includes sequences on the lute, electric guitar and Spanish classical guitar.
