Description: This film is divided into four sections: "The Aegean Civilization, " the unique blend of legend and fact found in early Greek history, "The Dark Ages of Greece, " the development of the city-state and the factors which led to a collision with the Persian empires of Darius and Xerxes; the defeat of Xerxes prepared Greece for "The Classical Age." The last section of the film examines the expansion of the Greek empire under the leadership of Alexander the Great.
