The Goldbergs: Episode 1557. Date: September 14, 1943. Cast: Gertrude Berg (Molly Goldberg); James R. Waters (Jake Goldberg); Roslyn Silber (Rosalie Goldberg); Alfred Ryder (Sammy Goldberg); Menasha Skulnik (Uncle David).
Announcer introduction: "With her incredible talent for getting involved in other people's problems, Molly has persuaded Grace and George to come back to Lastenbury. These two petty thieves and swindlers who brought Molly so much trouble, who ruined her reputation with her neighbors, still seem to her to be worth saving... so she has hidden George in the barn... and Grace has just arrived. Presumably, each has returned to face the music for the theft of the town funds. Secrecy was necessary for Molly's plans... but unfortunately, Jake happened to find out. What will turn out now is anybody's guess... Listen..."
Announcer close: "Still defiant... and still the same... Grace is back... and Molly can see that all her own hopes that the girl might reform were false. Perhaps in some cases, Jake's kind of thinking is right. Punish for the crime... and forget the rest... not everyone can change..."
