The Definite Integral As A Limit

Defines the definite integral using Riemann sums, and stresses the great latitude permissible in selection of subdivisions and representative points. Shows the integral for non-negative functions to exist and equal the area under the graph when the latter exists. An animated film narrated by Robert C Fisher.
