Shows the may different forms of life that have penetrated the isolation of the deep cave to live in a relatively stable environment. Illustrates the interrelationships among plants and animals in a cave community that interact to form a food web. Points out, using animation, that it is the geographic isolation of unconnected cave systems that is responsible for the development of new varieties and species. Offers examples of mutations, such as loss of pigment and eyes, by those animals which have successfully adapted to the cave environment.
