Description: An up-to-the-minute film showing the threat against free speech and freedom of the press. Heading the cast of stellar performers is William Farnum in the role of a liberal news publicist, who runs afoul of the New Government of the country of his birth and sacrifices his life in his attempt to stop the vandalism and stay the bigotry that is fomenting hatreds and inciting persecution. Anita Louise, leading feminine screen star, and Le Roy Mason portray the two lovers in the story, contributing a romantic tenderness and loyalty as they find their parents on opposing sides and as a result are themselves caught up in the whirlwind of dramatic events. Frank McGlynn, one of the most eminent character actors of today, is ideally cast as the intolerant head of a despotic censorship bureau, and Stuart Holmes, veteran heavy, brings a gripping characterization to the screen as an implacable official in the ruthless regime.
