The Australian ballet - Corroboree

Description: ‘Corroboree’ is both a record of the world premiere of the famous ballet created in Australia, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the rehearsal, design and preparation that went into the production. Inspired by composer John Antill’s best known work, the ballet was sponsored by the Arts Council of Australia and choreographed by Rex Reid. Performed by the National Theatre Ballet Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, ‘Corroboree’ is a striking illustration of some of the ways in which white Australia has imagined and expropriated Australian First Nations cultures.
