Texas Folklife Festival - Folklórico Music and Dance

These silent outtakes capture performances of folklórico, or traditional Mexican dance, during the Texas Folklife Festival in San Antonio. Accompanied by guitarróns, a woman sings and dancers twirl in bright floral skirts and headdresses. The crowd claps along as a little girl shows off her dance skills. Held annually by the Institute of Texan Cultures since 1972, the Texas Folklife Festival celebrates the state’s diverse ethnic heritage through food, music, dance, and the arts.
