Description: These silent outtakes capture a bluegrass performances at the Texas Folklife Festival in San Antonio. A quartet first performs what seems a jaunty tune. Contestants then show off their hollerin’ skills. Finally, performers in turn-of-the century bathing costumes, flapper dresses, and boater hats sing and dance, hamming it up for the camera and having a jolly good time. Held annually by the Institute of Texan Cultures since 1972, the Texas Folklife Festival celebrates the state’s diverse ethnic heritage through food, music, dance, and the arts.
