Teaching sign language to the chimpanzee

Description: Under the auspices of the University, Drs Allen and Beatrice Gardner conducted a study concerned with human communication with animals. Sign language was the method selected and a female chimpanzee was chosen as the research subject. This film follows the chimpanzee’s progress from infancy to nearly five years of age.
