This animated film shows graphically how hazardous tailgating can be and demonstrates a simple method to avoid it. The two second rule, when a lead cars rear passes a fixed object ahead, count two seconds. If you have passed the object before the end of the count, you're tailgating. It then shows when to add extra seconds to allow for these varying conditions.
