Year Published: c.1975

Sound: silent

Description: This mid-1970s silent home movie chronicles a summer at Friday Mountain Boys Camp in Hays County. The film begins with a survey of the wood and leather crafts created by the boys. They also go fishing in the creek, play sports in a large field, and go scuba diving in a rocky cove. A long, hot hike up Friday Mountain is rewarded with watermelon, and the boys make a splash jumping from a rope swing into the lake. They next engage in a series of competitions, including wheelbarrow racing, pillow-fighting, and tug-of-war. To build their rodeo skills, the boys practice roping goats and sheep, and take a trail ride on horseback. One by one, the campers, counselors, and staff all smile, wave, and goof off for the camera. The film ends with the arrival of friends and family for a barrel racing demonstration, a final ceremony, and the lowering of the flag.
