Endeavor hou go 1 minute 15 seconds all three engines now back at 104% three good hydraulic systems and electrical systems aboard Endeavor Vehicles now traveling 2,000 ft per second or about 1,300 mph altitude 64,000 ft downrange from the launch site 8 nautical miles standing by for Burnout and separation of the solid rocket boosters aboard endeavor SRB separation confirmed time 2 minutes 20 seconds in order to understand some of the the complexities and uh the general concepts involved in rendevu design that would be useful to understand some of the basic fundamentals of orbital Mechanics for instance an orbit is defined by its Pary and its apy the point that is closest to the earth is perige the point that's farthest from the Earth is apy due to the pole of Earth's gravity an object tends to orbit faster at Pary and likewise slower at apy orbital inclination is defined as the angle between the earth's equator and the direction of travel in orbit endeavor's inclination is 28.35 de orbital period is the time it takes an orbiting body to travel one time around the earth it's also affected by altitude at a typical shuttle altitude of 160 nautical miles it takes about 90 minutes to make one orbit by comparison at 3,443 nautical miles it takes about 4 hours to make one orbit so as altitude increases orbital period also increases the direction of travel in orbit is known as the velocity Vector commonly referred to as the V bar the radius of an orbit relative to the or Orting body is called the RAR a change in velocity along the V bar is known as Delta V whereas Delta is equivalent to change a posi grade change or a positive change in velocity at Point a will have the effect of accelerating an object to a higher altitude and by the time it reaches point B 180° from the burn point this is known as a POS grade [Music] maneuver although the maneuver was initiated by acceleration the object object will return to its original burn point a bit later than before because as altitude was increased orbital period was also increased a retrograde maneuver has the opposite effect by slowing the orbiting object down it loses altitude but as altitude is decreased orbital period also decreases so the Rendevous rule of thumb is speed up to slow down and slow down to catch up well the majority of the burns that the inlad will be conducting over the next few days are retrograde Maneuvers Maneuvers to slow it down to lower altitudes and the Orbiter to aaag grade Maneuvers the first uh maneuver of the Rendevous sequence was this morning after achieving orbit at 183 nautical miles and ohms bur was conducted to raise Endeavor perige to 137 nautical miles which set up the initial rendevu phasing angle and standards for Maneuvers to follow the nc1 burn which was just accomplished was designed as an acceleration maneuver at apy in order to raise the Pary and slow Endeavors closing rate this phase adjustment as it's called was intended to refine the projected horizontal distance between the two spacecraft projected at the start of the capture phase the nh1 burn which is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. central Time tomorrow is another shuttle acceleration maneuver this time at pery to raise ape while it also affects the closing rate the primary intent here is to decrease the projected vertical distance or altitude differential between the two spacecraft at the start of the capture phase late on flight day two another shuttle phase adjustment will be calculated by flight controllers as with All Phase adjustments this maneuver will occur at apigy in order to affect Pary adjust the closing rate and correct any Divergence from the target distance projected for the start of the Final Phase on flight day three Endeavor will circularize its orbit as the shuttle crew fires their reaction control thrusters to circularize the orbit at the control box origin this will be the last in plane maneuver prior to control box start time the Final Phase of rondu begins at TI or terminal phase initiation when Commander Dan br Stein after burning at ape an orbit prior will fly manually around the in set to set up the proper Eva access angles below the inat prior to Eva crew going to capture the inat satellite hey keep an eye on the end of the capture bar here okay toward your feet I got itou spotting so if it doesn't hit the I'm watching okay you got about a foot cor okay that's just control air CLE brakes prenter mode Pierre th it now uh in position the underside of the spacecraft oh shoot dried forward yeah I'm going to bring yeah closer with the Y I'm bring it back okay I'm I'm moving the satellite back a little bit got okay there two pules I they take them out a little bit later that CU you were reach a limit there no there control we had yesterday okay mounted to the capture bar as a grapple fixture that Bruce Melnick will later use to uh grapple the satellite after Pierre has installed the capture bar okay I'm okay [Applause] all right know when I could bring the bar around I'll do that tape up here give me a guesse how far away you are satellite my feet are probably four or five ft probably six yeah I'm gonna bring the bar around okay you can bring the bar around now take it slow now R let hold right there let me get my okay I'm going to hold right here your PCH look good I'm going to payload uh pitch looks pretty good um I need y some to the right okay come me in y me to the right watch your right end the capture bar on the arm yeah it looks good okay I'm starting to push you in okay yall be right please more right yeah keep going going I don't see any y it's [Applause] coming that's far enough okay that's good okay I need to go left about 6 in left six and driving in hold there hold there okay holding let me get my bearings okay we just passed the spot I have to wait till it comes around again so let's hold here okay looks to me like you're a little are you straight centered you think I need to go right a little bit okay that's what it looks like to me [Applause] right good clearance that's [Applause] good okay here we go expect you to come down from to me I'm bringing you down okay yeah we got about 150 deg to go Ro bring down some [Applause] more down some more looks like the satellite's tending that way a little bit okay dra looks good pitch looks pretty good stop it I think we're okay yeah we plent there in a minute let's start driving in you start ding I'm in free drift that's pretty good hold there left a little com left that's a little more okay hold that holding yeah I got the target we got about 90 to go see if I can get it in there okay should be no problem from here okay there's my target rers are clear in a little bit Bruce coming [Applause] in I missed it hang on okay have to catch you next time okay we got a raid on it now ping in it [Applause] yeah drifting away from us too okay okay I'm going back you withdrawing okay I'm going to pull him back was too I was too far [Applause] away a [Applause] lot man re the Houston back with you on tedris [Applause] West keep going left watch the Left End of the bar here you're touching the light sh left left left okay in left some more left some more quite a bit left no stop you back out back out back out okay you're clear BR if you can get it [Applause] on okay yeah uh I need to be up higher okay let's get get everything filled down here again yeah okay Houston for your info what we're doing is uh trying to time the wobble with the uh approach r d copy you it's the reason you're I think getting into the rist Y problem is because it's so far AP you mean for don't you Rick I mean the satellite is behind me right now towards the tail from me okay light is to far after and so the wrist is getting tied up tied up yeah the wrist wasn't tied up Rick we're we're we're fine there we were in The Singularity but we were still cooking okay get straight I need to go on my back though I know I'm straightening the joints up [Applause] here yeah [Applause] how long the sunrise 1 minute where's it going to be behind you right [Applause] now watch the right end of your bar here J Bring It Forward yes okay actually if we can get it further over the payload Bay Dan instead off that side that's the worst side tell you what I think I'm going to do is I'm going to put the bar on and any it clear the thrusters put it on stop it then I'll reposition the bar rickee has successfully reinstalled a camera in the forward bulkhead that allows for a wide angle color views that would [Applause] work Pierre thit continues with his uh testing of the handling characteristics of the capture bar that he will use to go out and capture the inat spacecraft with with your knees knees and body lean back a little bit sufficiently to clear the Lambs take it out with we'll take that out with body and then the last push will be just with your arms I'm [Applause] good okay I think I'm ready to go up okay can you take a look at my this is probably a good starting position let me get the see if you can uh get a picture of the pitch of my foot restraint relative to satellite or how this light here would be okay I think I've got a pretty good visualization of that here if you'll have to help me with pitch I'm not be able to tell pitch that well I'm looking at you this where I'm going to start looking at him Rick I'm going to get them out here I'll stop with the legs thr with the arms we get it a point back close and it starts to go a little wildly pull back and we'll start over [Applause] Okay Rick hee preparing the Pary kick motor or the booster motor that will be attached to the inat spacecraft in the a portion of the payload Bay as Pierre th it awaits uh the arrival of uh Endeavor at the close proximity operations of the [Applause] satellite we're about 23 and a half minutes away from uh the point at which Endeavor crosses the Terminator or begins to pass from Darkness into daylight that's a point at when at which the uh final sequence of Maneuvers will be made by Dan brandenstein and Bruce Melnick moving the arm to get Pierre into the proper position to attach the capture bar [Applause] [Applause] again PI right now either [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] anything now I got the [Applause] button n nothing c one more time that's it no thank L for getting [Applause] how do you read clear okay here we go the bar okay start moving Endeavor now sufficiently into the uh Sunrise portion of this pass to uh begin maneuvering Pierre in for the final capture phase of the inat spacecraft a little bit anyway real slow no no not go there until the last minute but don't let me forget BR Bruce Melnick now maneuvering the robot arm to put beer into the proper proper position underneath the [Applause] satellite 18 I made that camera laste yeah up pretty good didn't we all that discussion [Applause] is Qui give me an idea how far the Endor is I'd say about 2 ft okay and you're talking de that's right that's the only Dimension I'm going to ask you for unless say something different okay and the TP camera is probably the limiting factor okay ex the [Applause] spotlight [Applause] okay all right with that camera there [Applause] I can't take stoping my face [Applause] there please don't up my hand [Applause] hey Pier how does your attitude look at except for [Applause] pitch that looks pretty good doesn't matter actually I might need you all left a little I can't tell yeah yeah I think you do I agree yeah I think we're coming down and going after a little bit start bringing the bar around we are okay I'm going to close I'm going to bump the app potion down okay [Applause] it's going down [Applause] [Music] too got a [Applause] kill go a little bit I think got pushed forward too much it's too far now okay I'll bring it back a little bit definitely I've got a good view of the pitch here need 10 or 15 back okay keep your knees like it was during your practice runs okay I'm going to payload now okay and we're not going to make a we're just going to get you sweetened up here coming in [Applause] close they still need some more pitch back okay sure got a bit fact I wish you told me that earlier un here it looked like you need a lot more forward even okay watch right under the bar on the arm PP it one more time okay don't get too much closer okay sweetened up need to pitch back more uh to the ey there y I think you're there here okay that looks good yeah let's just sit here for a second let things damp out okay I think need to come a little bit left yeah a little bitwise I'm pretty good I think okay I'm going to start to bring you in just a little bit [Applause] more a little [Applause] bit about more left left watch the Lamb on the right side y left a little bit too y left okay watch your Lamb on the right [Applause] your y now we're get to one more you go y left a one more [Applause] okay I agree with you you're just about Square almost one more y left no more yall left yeah coming forward a little bit okay going up y up I think you need a little more y left okay come a little more y left yeah I agree watch clear the thrusters you're well clear the thrusters still okay he's about uh 18 in below the light Shield far for that's good I said good y That's good [Applause] go actually now they need a little more left y looks like I stopped [Applause] it maybe not quite one more PP stop here we just put in a couple uh jet firing let's see where it settles out [Applause] how pitch Rick pitch looks great I'm going to drive you in a little bit I think you need to come up some need to go up little left come a little left yeah you spent [Applause] right that's okay still need to come up some okay coming [Applause] up that's pretty good sir I think it's drifting forward Dan [Applause] left about 6 [Applause] in left left that's good up and in up and in about 270 to go okay it looks to me like you're still quite a way away though yeah I am I I need to go in quite a [Applause] bit that's left a little I'm clear the thrusters okay y on left [Applause] high now okay coming down go in some more now if you want thrusters are [Applause] clear okay I need to go left them back about 6 in com left he good coming in and up all looks good though left some more left I think you need some plus pitch plus pitch see thear there left left some more how pitch pit looks pretty good looks good to meet to some more in this [Applause] close got plenty of clearance bre okay yeah site just drifting forward on us a little bit left you're just about to enter the plane okay don't want to go much closer here okay I'll stay right there see what you got gotta wait till motor gets around here that's still see you being more than a foot away what you say know but I want to wait till the big Lamb's clear before we try to go in we got 180 degre to go left that's good on left good on [Applause] height about 190 to go coming left dripping we' got a r going there it looks like let me okay's going to put in a pulse okay I'm clear okay you're going to begin to need right yard looks like the yeah the coning is a little bigger than two de and it's worked its way around to where it's starting to be left or right y yeah d y right coming up yeah I think we're going to need to move forward looks like it's drifting forward then almost out of this window you got ready to go to here [Applause] okay watch your left end of your bar or you have plenty of clearance looks close to me just the right end it's not you know has any difficulty Drive in a little bit off which way do you want to Y uh do you think left need to come right [Applause] right that's good let's let things left yeah y left some more that's not bad that's a little bit coming left pitch Rick as as I can tell it's good okay I'm moving in a little bit watch okay you go left dripping left coming left I get her back it's not that bad it looks pretty good think cam Charlie might give you guys a good pitch view now the pitch looks pretty good I need to go left some more got a pretty good left input in right now must be moving a little bit okay you can how's your y I think you need the Y right yeah yeah and we have to wait another turn here okay well I'm going to I'm going to move bring it back a little bit okay all right don't want to get much higher though watch your off here watch your left in you your left a little bit move your right a little bit go yes it is how are my joint [Applause] angles hey we need uh some left y y left that look pretty [Applause] Square I'm going to push in a little bit okay wait till the strer goes by okay I can't get any closer you I want to be as close as we can so I got to make sure I clear the squad in now okay tell me [Applause] when okay keep going hold it there for a second holding are you can going some more now go up some St up and in yeah left a little left a little that's good okay coming up a little bit more that's some okay I'm try here hold on easy easy easy [Applause] easy back out back out me to play start ya need some right y have to go try again back out coming out coming out good that's [Applause] good be left watch your left hand I'm going to yell your left and we're going to sweeten up the attitude again okay I think we're drifting back towards the center it looks all right we're good okay yeah unfortunately the way it's ConEd around I can't see Pitch as well anymore I think camera C might see Pitch better than I can won't tell you anything just check okay Pi I'm going to go ahead and S up on it again that was a good move good call yeah that was good coordination hey for coordination all right okay looks like I need to Y you a little right yeah quite a [Applause] bit I'm still y you bringing you up and moving you a little right how's that y there little more to the right keep going you can see it R just talk them in keep going keep yawn just about there I'd stop it there here you've got some Yar your hand well I know the bar got a little bit okay yeah that looks good okay I'm moving you in and up and to the right okay well no right looks I think we're pretty straight okay moving you in okay and now you need to Y back to the left left satellite coning yeah that's coning okay up a little bit coming up [Applause] the left watch your left hand not too much left a little bit okay coming left and up left y left y to close you look stop let me see you need to go left yeah left we get it this time I'm too low now pull it out coming out [Applause] big cone on it are we clear we clear yeah I haven't touched it so that's good news I probably the [Applause] yesterday pretty good still on before long okay [Applause] try again yeah bring up watch your feet they still clear yeah we got lots of I see that's not clear okay left not too much until we pass the land left you need go left not the the all looks good right now okay coming [Applause] left okay stop left stopped up a little bit coming up [Applause] this my target oh we got a long way to go we got 18 to go okay just be you're in too close then let back up you're too close you got to pass the motors again yeah we got to pass the motors that's pretty good right there okay may back a little more [Applause] okay okay I think I can clear the motors you're clear you're [Applause] back me out a little bit looks pretty good you're clear you don't have to and that [Applause] way and looks like it's clear everything okay I can't see it as well ready to go yeah might need some right yall on right hold it there stop yeah we'll get right now right or right up right not yeah it's good Center up up yeah how's the foot restraint Rick back out back out back out a little okay right I'm get it this time guys us too too [Applause] quickly yeah I okay now bring it down here I tell you our joint angles are good right here and I can see good this a great place if we can do it [Applause] okay okay what happened that time moving forward didn't get into position soon enough then the uh the area was cut I down enough time to get slowly put the bar in okay okay we got 180 to go you you could start in you probably got at least a foot of clearance I think how's my can you tell uh your arm is pretty good you've got quite a bit of YW in the bar I got to pull back for the L okay okay okay so I'm moving in a little bit okay I need to go right some a little bit of right yeah probably Bruce okay got a little bit in tell me when to take it out right and up right and [Applause] up right some more watch your left hand yeah I got it okay let's see if we can get it right and right yeah yeah [Applause] right here make sure that when you want me to Y right you say y right any other time right is just right yeah that's what I'm doing move we're moving forward yeah I think we're going to need to move the satellite back over the payload Bay a little bit here okay got back out all the way okay what what I need to do is need to start getting there real close right after the Lambs go by so the little trusters aren't really a clearance problem you made any contact at all yet no Bruce Melnick backing Pier th it away from the satellite with the arm momentarily while Commander Dan brandenstein Maneuvers Endeavor and positions the satellite back over the center of the payload Bay yeah be nice to [Applause] have and Houston go ahead Endeavor check camera tense we see the KE at 44 but we'd like to leave it [Applause] on stand by one Tom I'm not even looking at him and never for time you can leave it on leave the kill camera on thank you [Applause] good that's good calls on those backing out we've got time well discussions we had about the right beam maybe uh we have to do this again maybe tomorrow take the right beam off cuz that's the only problem that keeps me from getting in close earlier to get in position is the right beam's in the way the uh St I know we talk about that but I never problem training so I that issue a little bit more and then I'll stop it it's coming in the field view of the he camera I'll move it for part way down and stop it then we we'll probably be go again [Applause] okay we good well we go set up let's see it's it's going to sit [Applause] there so how pitch starters right I'll tell you it's so much higher this time I'm not going to have a good bouge on Pitch I'm afraid not look bad Bruce okay think I might need to pitch back a little bit Yeah I actually pitched your back a little bit while we were maneuvering there bring it back a little bit [Applause] more yeah looks like it's probably stopped I need some right y'all okay yeah try to keep up with the attitude here while we're maneuver while we're sweeten it up and okay we're we're steady okay we're steady here I'll start to get you a little closer again I agree right y on the way in more right [Applause] y stop I think it's running way from this little Dam it's still opening okay might be opening up the [Applause] judge don't that right y'all I mean does the Y still look good to you R yeah okay I need a back I think still okay but it's going to be left y here in a second that's but I was thinking the tendency y it's on it way it's already in there now wait wait wait wait maybe I said the wrong no it still needs to be right right y hey let's try to keep it went back right Rick you didn't miss it got kind of like a double wobble to it seems like that's possible probably not attitude looks good to me here height Height's pretty good I think pretty centered they were drifting left to go right them maybe it's just coning there just going have to fly form on [Applause] it yeah need some left I'm kind of pitch pitch pitch let's see Pitch I think I need to pitch back okay that much that when I lean I'm going to need some okay how's that attitude now looks like you're need to come left I like the Y stop in the Y hey no you're am too far left well I don't need to go left okay you can drive me in some now coming in a little B behind not looking at it watch the right side I guess you're clear yeah we need to go in some more it up little bit up up [Applause] I do [Applause] believe you had it I to I hear firing got a r on it slight [Applause] rate I felt it up there firm fire no got to fire manually I got ready to and then I I couldn't get to it you were you were right in there yeah on the left beam man I could see clearly that was the right that was one I was looking at I can't see the left one cuz it's it's hidden by the bar but I C A left it almost looked like you stopped the rotation I think you did so you stopped the rotation it wasn't enough to fire the latches now uh yes that's true and it's not rotating at all what happened didn't fire well that was a nice touch [Applause] but should have squeezed the triggers I tried but it was it was rotating too much I couldn't keep up with it Houston Can you estimate what kind of rates around the inap in ever Houston Can you estimate what kind of rates you have on the [Applause] inat we've been uh trying to figure that out like I say the spin has been essentially stopped give me K probably still got a quarter of an RPM let me watch it don't let it get too far away or else we have to go Z get back down tucked in move the bar around Bruce I'm moving you down out of the way so can get that thing tucked in get back to the uh Endeavor now crossing the Baja Peninsula on the 64th orbit of the mission pretty slow well I'm not so sure it may still have a half an RPM doesn't look like it's coning though he I'm moving you to PO for prox Ops okay [Applause] course [Applause] R Endeavor need inertial on the da [Applause] damn thanks Houston [Applause] Pierre th it was uh able to uh come very close to attaching the capture bar he did in fact remove the uh spin rate from the satellite we're sending you a camcorder down on the down link should give you an idea of uh rotation on F okay we've got that time we're looking at it looks like it's uh not rotating very fast at all I'd say it's about a third of an RPM actually okay and do you see much coning to it at all not that bad to me I didn't well I couldn't tell that well but it didn't like it was com much to me [Applause] yeah it was yeah [Applause] how much time they sense it 14 minutes Houston Endeavor we have about 13 minutes of daylight left this pass [Applause] cop Endeavor now flying straight across the Sierra Madre in Mexico looking straight down on the inad spacecraft [Applause] yeah and D Houston Dan like an estimate on the Range if you think you're more than 50 ft out we need your low [Applause] z no we're [Applause] not okay [Applause] [Applause] an end effector over there [Applause] somewhere and I'll say Community reporting that uh Pierre has done the best job of stabilizing the satellite and they're now ready for him to go and get it got air wobble Endeavor now passing over the uh border of Mexico and Texas at Laredo [Applause] [Applause] Endeavor now passing over Corpus Christie Texas preparing to pass out over the Gulf of Mexico and Rick you were pretty close we calculated a little over a quarter [Applause] RPM cop [Applause] looking over Mission specialist Kathy Thornton shoulder using the camcorder on the flight deck of endeavor as the Orbiter passes uh high above Corpus Christie Texas passing out over the Gulf of Mexico on orbit 64 looking directly down at the tail end of the satellite at this point [Applause] R to the capture bar if you armed it again I never fired neither neither side did neither side did and I I never got a chance I was going for the manual and had it pulled away I was afraid I was going to TI you know tip it off too much I could see the pad the pushups bring pad right up against the trigger on the right side I could see the same pretty much be the same on the left I thought you had it I have to say [Applause] we going I want to fire the manual triggers a few times and uh CH uh John I remember yesterday they wanted to know about the sun angle to the spin axis I'd say right now it's going from about uh 90° to the spin axis to about 45° to the spin axis in the wble okay reick thank you pretty much of a wag but okay appreciate the info Rick figure out the period of the lble and ever Houston we're about a minute and a half from tedra Handover on the other side we're going to be in blockage so we're going to lose our video our last estimate of the period of the wobble is about 2 minutes and also for your information you have 6 minutes of sunlight left this [Applause] pass R houon done this daylight okay we understand minutes is good though guys brother we want to think about the right beam or I should say the alternate capture bar we to get it down and get it get the other one in one pass in the night path yeah I think so that's the thought easier to control the bar without the right beam and that puts us in a manual you know at the end though it be easier to get the bar in there the guys in Saturn have to tell us that over I've got a good view here on that here you to come down some more bring me down inir that way okay that's fairly close to level over okay was the coning angle again over reped to be 2.6 de it's like a lot more than that to me or am I mistaken over that's a lot more Tom D's going to fly out for you when you're all ready the problem I'm going to have is I can only bring this bar just close to me okay now again this is where you're going to attach it do you think you can still attach the bar at that point well I don't have to go very far Bruce over okay TV over yeah endeav uh using freea we've got you live down link okay tell us how this looks our orientation and stuff this look like how they did the what up over I'll tell you if I didn't know where you guys were I'd say uh it's still pretty close Okay and Houston from Endeavor the position that we had digitals wise was quite a bit off from what we're looking at here we just flew this visually to where it's a nice level position that's how we got here yeah and and Bruce I don't doubt that he required some tweaking in there but uh positioning looks pretty good you want to put it down overage that out with the fly around right here by the back would it looks too far away to all of us I think we need to have our legs a little [Applause] straighter as it gets closer it's going to get bigger so maybe it will be over over I'm raising you at little to match your fo height okay over [Applause] feel like you're looking straight between Tom and Rick Pierre [Applause] [Applause] over see what we're grabbing [Applause] over we're 180 out right now [Applause] foil silver foil is what they don't want us to touch over okay I'm going to yep back to street that one's going to be the one that's next to you Rick over wble let's talk about which one who's here the next one will be your over [Applause] over not the one above your head though [Applause] over it's coming down a little bit you guys you guys ready over a little bit of closure I'm just going to leave it coming it looks like it's too far away from me Dan in elevation over some wobble to it [Applause] and come back before he gets there Mission specialist Rick hee on the left Tom Acres in the center with his back to the camera and Pierre threw it on the robot arm in position for the capture of the inat satellite as Dan brandenstein slowly brings Endeavor in okay now see if the wobble wobbles out here so we've got a full 360 go over well let's just hold it right here and see what happens I'll be at the link my reach right here down over okay you may have to talk to me about this capture bar if it does this okay another thing we can think about too is if if we keep this constant cone on here we can have Rick and Tom catch the low side and I can raise P up Pier up to grab the higher side what do you think idea oh boy I wish I would need too came straight down I can reach you here how about you Tom it was if it was tilted down to me I could [Applause] yeah I agree if look the like I tiled quite a bit to the XY plane stand [Applause] [Applause] bying over your guys heads now over atad the views got to come your way a little bit yes I think so that means I'm going need to move in [Applause] over say what pretty good [Applause] over wobbling the other way [Applause] look I have a PR to go forward [Music] some seet forward over okay it'll be coming just be patient nothing happens p [Applause] about 180 out right now if we get it on this round over toing out a little bit looks like stoss from you still got come your way [Applause] Tom go no looks pretty good right now still go forward there over okay per you need to come more forward oh right now it's too hot but we'll just see how it comes I probably do need to go with the coding it may just come right back to top over it may I I guess all we can do is kind of sit here and wait for the right opportunity and cuz I've tried to fly it out a couple times and you just can't fly out the cooning haven't got anything else on my dance card Rick is that capture bar where where it's not snagged on anything uh it's not great thanks for the call although I'm not sure I'm going to be able to control it any better than this had some vro on his leg could stuck that in just any sharp edges guys the silver material the nickel foil is the sharp Ed that way a little bit okay how four look Prett good it's too far forward I think you said over okay got it [Applause] Commander Dan brandenstein manipulating the spacecraft Endeavor under the satellite as the two spacecrafts circle the Earth at 17,500 milph I don't think we'll be able to okay but whatever you put in put it in very gradually think they said 5 PB time in 1 second or something [Applause] I think the four is real good far for me right now over I'm moving you I'll move you forward Pier not yet not yet because too far forward to time too but it's pitched right now over I think it's going to be good for me Rick a hack when one of the racks goes in front of you it looks to me like Pier's not going to have a rack in front of him when it goes by the rest of you in the center of me okay I could reach mine but it's not centered gra to go I'm moving [Applause] you let's get another hack next time [Applause] think we can handle our coming toward you time no it looks stable D okay it could come towards me at least uh cles or so [Applause] [Applause] be point to the rack that you want to grab the the right one the correct one okay that's over here is the one that Rick wants to grab so mine is the next one coming up mine is the one between Tom and Rick B about 1 70 out right now open Dam we need to close again next yeah it's just a wobble I think Tom okay cuz same thing happened in Translation I mean in the why I'm not I think the only thing to do is rather and try and Chase it is to try and pick a middle of the road place and wait it out somebody else has a suggestion there's enough coding that I'm beginning to think that we should suggest we grab any set of three when it's flat over I uh definitely agree with [Applause] that like that last pass would have been a good one about us we're going to get it we'll be back it'll be back be back yeah well I'm saying it's that's the orientation okay is that our game plan okay it's flat you got one in front of you we go for it here let me stop the closure on a little bit it's coing kind of throws me off on that a little bit too I don't think it's closing much actually you're opening now another hack on yeah I'm going to have to snuggle it down behind between you a little more again I guess um I don't want to get down too close cuz that wobble is probably more than you guys can compensate for by bending back and forth we can go quite away [Music] you we're down okay out of my reach on the right now coming toward you and I are about the same then still I think mine went by the same time time and I are matched up perfectly it's going to be to the left of you [Applause] is this our Target coming right now no I mean it's looking flat I think this is the one I think this is it [Applause] guys I got a closure I got a breaking in one before they right before they you guys will need to be quiet for rck I think we need to slide off a little bit Dan if you can do it [Applause] [Applause] I reach I can [Applause] reach reload though okay I can tou it with my left hand now ready ready too far out of my reach going to have to go [Applause] quicker okay I'll back it up just a little bit I was going to ask Bruce to raise me up but I was too late well but next time went out of my it was going out of my reach on the right when board did you see that I need to go up negative can you see my hand if I go like that yes Palm up is up Palm down is down I [Applause] remember and de Houston uh it's got about a three and a half minute period so now we think it'll be in the same spot here in about 3 minutes and uh 15 seconds could you have grabbed it on your second ready yes don't let it go past that point okay and P where do you need to be so you could have been ready when they were I could have been ready on second ready it was just too high it was it was climbing on me do okay [Applause] Endeavor on the 96th orbit approaching the Hawaiian Islands from the southwest the crew awaiting now just the leveling out of the satellite as it rotates at24 or 2/10 of a revolution per minute the wobbling rate the period is about uh predicted at about 3 and A2 minutes at this point in the crew just simply waiting for it to come around one more time you guys having fun [Applause] yet shame we aren't appreciating this view going by I think we just went over Indonesia [Applause] again we l I believe over okay it over me Mark my left about a foot over left about 8 in over tooing out so I'm putting a little closure on till next one around hopefully it'll in the center of py and a little to the right of me and left of [Applause] you this is the one Stand By and commands that'll be [Applause] in I go like this [Applause] for okay gentle on the inputs okay yeah real easy guys real easy don't bring us any closer then okay I'm stopping [Applause] it looking perfect to me [Applause] over it's going to rise out of my reach but we'll see [Applause] [Applause] over I can get it I okay wait wait let's do [Applause] it easy easy [Applause] easy I got a good grip yes sir I think we got a satellite yeah we're watching down here we got a lot of smiles down here Dan it ain't over yet [Applause] yeah nice job guys okay KT I've got a verification step for you would you verify that payload appt main C is [Applause] Oni on okay KT then we'd like you to pick up in step four on the aside deploy flight supplement page 2-4 okay page two four on the aide deploy main Charlie on and Main Bravo off that's [Applause] affirmative Sam I'm putting in the circuit break CET breaker 4 which is not part of that step but it's going to take you to make this work Endeavor Houston KT we con Cur okay I'm going to take system a enable deploy power on which is also not part of that step I got a gray talk back car and rates are good I'm going primary deploy pre arm a on talk back gray primary deploy a AR on talk back gray stand by for fire three two one fire and KT we see a good deploy Aston I tell you that old boy didn't want to go did he very stubborn inat 6 sat is now on its way I'll tell you Dan I'm not sure what happened I this has been one heck of a day indications are at this point that perhaps the a controller was cross-wired between its uh two electrical power sides by selecting an alternate to electrical bus and uh pushing in the uh circuit breakers success was found at the AF uh flight deck of endeavor as uh Kathy Thorton successfully fired the super zip and deployed the inat 6 satellite on its way and uh Endeavor we need this point uh crew Commander Dan brandstein and pilot Kevin shilon will be maneuvering uh Endeavor and a very slight separation maneuver once clear of the area space walker Rick he will be moving back into the payload Bay to do some cleanup work before uh moving into the airlock and repressurizing the inat 6 spacecraft on its way to a PKM firing tomorrow at 1225 p.m. Central Time and D Houston uh for Eva Roger Rick uh we'd like you to complete an expedited payad Bay cleanup and storage and just one other note for you before we repress the air lock today we would like you to go on theu to recharge your 02 part of that then houst you ready to copy deploy times or you got that information yeah we're see in Excel we'll get a fft of the frequency and see if we got the inertial ratio changed which means we left a lot of mass out there congratulations to you per your file has you have to Lear another one we'll get back to the other line Mission iscs we may see some chugging on the motor on the Excel repulsion wants to look at it okay this is every uh timer is uh what channel cting down is is
