Presents the story of light through the ages from the time of the caveman to the present. Uses animation, live, and model photography to portray the development of illumination as it progressed from fire through the metal lamp of 400 AD, the candle, whale oil lamp, kerosene lamp, gas lights, arc lamp, to the incandescent lamp as invented by Edison. Shows the continued perfecting of the incandescent lamp to the present and the extent of its impact upon society.
