Observes that economic forces are bringing an end to the workplace that provided jobs for many Lithuanians, Irish, Poles, Germans, blacks, and Latin Americans. Reviews the struggle for unionization, the history of broken strikes, and the role of women and blacks in rejuvenating the struggle and invigorating the union leadership.
