Description: A close-up of "Forum '85," the gathering in Nairobi, Kenya, of feminists from all over the world for ten days of reckoning, strategic planning, and resolution. In hundreds of workshops and informal sessions, participants vigorously debated approaches to world peace, hunger, health care, unemployment, and much more. Color, cultural diversity, and energy characterized the conference, as the voices of western feminists became intimately linked with the struggles of third world women. The program and the congress end with a cautiously optimistic look ahead toward the year 2000 and its possibilities for women the world over.
