Description: During Ben Barnes' term as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives he recorded a collection of reports in cooperation with local Austin television station, KTBC, for the purpose of keeping the public informed on the 60th Texas Legislature. In this report, Speaker Barnes reports on the bills that still remain on the Legislative floor during the last two weeks of the 60th Texas Legislature, which was scheduled to end on May 29, 1967. These bills include the House Appropriation Bill, Congressional redistricting, and the Teacher Pay Raise bill. Barnes predicted that there will be no special session required and he was partially correct. The session ended on time, but there was a special session called on June 4, 1968, nearly a year after the end of the 60th Legislature.
