Description: During Ben Barnes' term as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives he recorded a collection of reports in cooperation with local Austin television station, KTBC, for the purpose of keeping the public informed on the 60th Texas Legislature. In this report, Speaker Barnes comments on Governor John Conally's proposed State program to the 60th Texas Legislature Session, presenting both positive and negative points to the proposal. While he agrees with Connally's recent program which causes Texas to be a progressive state that prohibits federal "encroachment," he also sees holes in the financial aspects of the proposition that will lead to future taxes.
