Soviet Union: A New Look

Shows how the vastness of the Soviet Union is reflected in the great variety of its citizens and in the wide range of its climate, customs, dress, and background. Visits schools, a factory, a housing construction site, artists at work, and a Moscow family. An opening animated sequence is followed by rare newsreel footage of life under the czars, then by historical material shot by Julien Bryan in the 1930s. Updated version of the 1958 Julien Bryan production entitled Russia.
