Description: Landscape architecture Professor Philip H. Elwood, along with three Iowa State College students, made a trip of U.S. western national parks in the summer of 1927. This video contains clips from the South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana portions of that trip. Includes footage of Cedar Canyon, Badlands National Monument, summer home of President Calvin Coolidge, Harney Peak, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Upper and Lower Falls, Old Faithful, Mt. Washburn, Glacier National Park, Lake McDermott, and Gunsight Pass. Includes footage of close encounters with bears.
