The fugitive hides in a shed in a poor district of the city. Some children find him and one 17-year-old, Rainer Meister, called Amigo, understands enough of what is happening to want to protect the man. But he must fight against the desire of another kid to turn the man in. Amigo wins the cowardly kid over, but the kid's father finds out and calls the Gestapo, fearing for his job as a minor official.
