Description: Shows how sickling is induced by addition to venous blood of an equal volume of a reducing agent. Continues with a drop of the mixture placed on a glass slide to show that a low partial pressure of oxygen causes a sickle cell hemoglobin to orient in rigid forms which distort the red cell into sickle shapes.
