shoplifting hurts us all

Transcription

[Music] Each year, retail stores in the United States lose over $3.5 billion to shoplifting and pilferridge. [Music] That's $10 million a day. Who pays for this loss? Unfortunately, it's you and I, the customers. Most stores mark up prices 10 to 15% to cover theft and the extra costs of security equipment and personnel. But sometimes that markup isn't possible. The small neighborhood market, the family operation for example, simply can't afford extra security measures. The losses due to shoplifting can put them out of business. [Music]
