SHOCK VALUE: THE MOVIE TRAILER 2014

This one-minute theatrical trailer promotes Shock Value: The Movie, a feature documentary about how Dan O'Bannon and a group of USC film school outsiders helped invent modern horror. The poster credits directors Charles Adair, John Carpenter, Dan O'Bannon, and Terence Winkless, and stars Mary Burkin, Jerry Cox, Kathy Maynard, and Andy Pahich. Presented by the USC Hugh M. Hefner Moving Image Archive and DKA Films, and inspired by Jason Zinoman's book, the trailer uses bold red horror-movie typography and a descending knife graphic to evoke the genre it celebrates. The original song "Escape From New York City" by The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs plays over the credits.
