Shearing Yaks (Tajik People)

Description: Episode of Series “Mountain peoples of Central Asia”. Explains how the yak herds, which stay high in the mountains, where it is cool, are brought down to the village for shearing. The wool is pounded by men with sticks, spun into yarn and kept until there is enough to make a carpet. Shows the Tajik people shearing yaks.
