Description: A story of the inland telegraph, demonstrating the need for and efficiency of the inland communications system. Shows a message from a Northern Territory bush wireless to Dunlop Tyres translated into a narrative about developments in the outback (transportation, primary industry, the flying doctor etc.). Also includes footage of Aboriginal couriers travelling overland on foot, Aboriginal settlements, their culture, cooking, food gathering etc, in particular Emily’s Gap.
