Second report on modernisation

Recent progress in the modernisation and electrification scheme for British Railways. Illustrates some of the new architectural and engineering techniques employed in building railway stations, flyovers, marshalling yards, freight trains and deluxe Pullman carriages. Electronics and automation are prominent features of the new face worn by British Railways’ tracks, stations and offices, and a glimpse of modern training and living facilities for staff is also included.
