our world [Music] the oceans of the world many believe they are the cradle for all life on our planet [Applause] no stormy way uh [Applause] foreign good afternoon everybody my name is robin along with susannah gym we'd like to welcome you to jammu stadium the world's largest skilled whale breeding facility being in an environment where man and whale work learn and play together chamber has given the world a new awareness of all killer whales it is this awareness with the prompted worldwide concern for the environment and our desire to preserve and cherish all marine life through respect understanding and trust shamu has led us to where we are today and we're determined to stay with them as we head for tomorrow [Music] um reality ladies and gentlemen [Applause] welcome to the birth of another killer whale signifies us we're creating an environment that's happy and healthy enough for adult killer whales to breathe perhaps the most important factor in such an environment is us the people who care for these magnificent creatures well each one of us has a very special and a very unique relationship with each killer whale here but this relationship is best demonstrated when we enter their world maybe [Music] wow every day in a comical way to bring laughter and knowledge to you hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the sea lion and otter stadium my name is phil and this is abner after the california sea lion you'll be seeing playing the part of clyde right now he's about seven years old and he weighs about 400 pounds but by the time he's fully grown he can weigh as much as 600 pounds okay right now that reached about 25 pounds of bearing back with the squid each and every before we set sail a word about the weather if you'll be seated in the first six rows of our stadium there is an excellent chance matey that you'll get wet and to help ensure that all swabbies enjoy their and now it's time for a story about pirates mime hoist the jolly roger [Music] it's just become sail across the the is [Music] could be just as fishy as the fire is the most notorious faded ship on the high seas the pinniped had a fine and noble master captain squid [Music] the noble captain squid always robbed from the rich and gave to the poor which led most of his crew to abandon ship only one crew member the loyal first mate mr seymour with the crew gone the captain and mr seymour were left with only the bilge rats for company and captain squid with a sad tale to tell well mr seymour here we are for the ones feared hms benefit what's even worse we're down to our last vegas treasure this is it our last bag it's if only we had a crew we could set sail in search of the lost treasure of the pirate king we'd be rich beyond our wildest dreams but who would be dumb enough to join us now who could possibly be dumb enough to join up now sea lion named clyde oh than anything in the world they wanted to be this is my good buddy clyde right here i find captain glad that you both really want to be pirates well if you two want to become pirates there's only one way you can do it and that's by taking the psat psat by the pirate skills and admissions test thank you well i suggest fly goes below to warm up my first mate mr seymour will demonstrate and then clyde can give it a try now scum i want you to pay close attention because you're observing this test for how's everybody doing sounds like we tonight a lot of friends with us well tonight we'd like to share with you a very special time of seaworld experience we brought together a group of unusual animes for the very first time now it's not like the atlantic bottlenose dolphins you might be familiar with but others are brand new to our seaworld family tonight you're going to have a chance to meet them all well right now we'd like to introduce you to my former bottlenose dolphin starting it off with a six-year-old female she was born right here at seaworld right out on the glass this is custom [Applause] business [Applause] well haven't we had a chance to introduce our dolphins to you now it's a chance for one of you to get to meet the dolphins hi why don't you come right over here with me what's your name all the way from montana well welcome to seaworld of california gina have you ever met a dolphin before you have you're supposed to say no the best way to meet your doctor so pump your hands above your head just like that okay now i'm going to carry three you're going to dive in the pool next to misty okay she's going to give you a ride all the way around and don't forget to come away everybody are you ready okay one two three go tell you what i got a better idea why don't you kneel down right next to myself and missy and we're going to get your line up for us and you can reach our head out there and rub her down ah very good you know what those dolphins and whale skin is very sensitive and they do seem to enjoy the touch i think missy likes that a lot good job gina hey what do you think she feels like she's just breathing what do you think she feels like she feels good well of course she does hey would you like to help us train her today sure okay could you stand up one more time atta girl can you sit around in a circle spin around in a circle let's watch minty i think you got your singer good job [Applause] wow that's great why don't you help me feed her cheese about 23 pounds of fish and squid each and every day let's stand up again not a girl there's a smell go ahead and give it to me i'll give you don't get let go okay there's another smell you like that you're gonna love this it's a slimy old squish yeah there you go oh you're a brave little girl something ooh you don't you just hit it off really well can you give your new friend missy a here at the stadium she's 16 feet long and weighs about two thousand five hundred pounds kevin alex can't stand out of our full run pilot whale her name is bubbles [Applause] as a matter of fact he's the only known performing dev finest in the country coming after say hello to everybody so ladies and gentlemen cooper bringing bubbles to yeah out here to show you just how different marine mammals can be prioritized has some very fascinating characteristics probably one of the most obvious are long single shaped pectoral flippers these are the flippers located on the sides of the whale's solvent body used for searing and stopping bubble juice is hurt to give everybody a great big way below and take a look along the front page of the glasses his little petrol flippers for steering along with his powerful tail clips to propel himself in through the water now whales and dolphins do not have any [Music] not bad for a little guy okay bubbles it's your turn she's on her way her first position will be popping up right over here on your right whale um china crazy i'd like to shake his hand he made my baby fall attention all boat drivers attention all bump drivers hey man somebody seems to have left their boat out here on the beach we gotta move it for the show lifeguard lifeguard is this your boat oh i knew it man it's your boat isn't it all right let's uh could
