Scotland's LMS Railway

Year Published: 1938

Creator: London, Midland and Scottish Railway

Description: In this ca. 1938 promotional tourism film produced by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, experience the beautiful areas in and around the Trossachs in Scotland. S "Produced & Presented by L.M.S. Advertising & Publicity Department" Narrated by John Rae - Could not find one in my research that was the right time period. I'm unsure of the specific date of this film; my estimate of 1938 comes from the featured Coronation Scot train, introduced in 1937, and stopped running with the start of the war. However, if you know the area and think differently please leave a comment, would love to know more. Fully closed-captioned. *Contact regarding usage* Corrected for contast, exposure, framing. Added stabilization as it was a fairly unsteady original print. Edges of the frames were overprinted ontop of eachother; hence the almost widescreen crop. Audio on this print was rather poor, lot of wow & flutter and static from being low contrast; in addition to scratches. Put it through quite a few post processing steps to improve the listenability as much as I could. Due to a claim, ~60 second section of music (no narration) was replaced with another section from the film, rather than mute it or deal with the hassle of disputing it. 0:00 - Intro 00:45 - The Coronation Scot departing 02:35 - Gleneagles Hotel and golf courses 05:11 - Coach journey from Callander 07:29 - Loch Katrine steamer 10:37 - Coaches at Stronachlachar 13:11 - Loch Lomond steamer #scotland #1930s #tourismfilm #LochLomond #Trossachs
