Shad became a sport and commercial fish in 1871. The film shows a few shots of San Francisco and the Powell Street Cable car, a rented vehicle driving out of the City and along country roads, the Yuba River and two men fishing; CU of their fishing gear, and the catch of some fish who are let go.
