Roller Derby

Complete Record: Both men’s and women’s teams. Audience shots. Occasional collision or fall, but mostly they skate endlessly around the track. No closeups of skaters -- just long shots of the whole track. Begins briefly with Men’s teams, the Chiefs vs. the Jolters, and a long shot of the entire track, and occasional freeze frames. Next up, women’s teams for the Chiefs and the Jolters. Great hits and falls, lots of women gesticulating, hitting each other. Also great crowd reaction shots, lots of women in cat eye glasses cheering and chewing gum. Occasionally cuts back to a pair of women in individual races? The “jammers” Also, medium close up on one racer (”Tuffy”) who’s put in the penalty box for excessive roughness. Back to men’s teams, also Chiefs and Jolters. More of the same. Ends with men’s and women’s teams leaving the track, crowd members asking for autographs, the girls looking real tough. Final shots are of the “star of the game,” Toni Hill of the chiefs. Shows her in a dress brushing her hair and smiling, while the narrator lists her hometown, favorite sports, and her hobbies.
