Description: Chronicles the life and development of Auguste Rodin as an artist and shows the difficulties and the triumphs encountered in casting his bronze masterpiece "The Gates of Hell" in the lost wax process. Discusses as well many of the other sculptures created before his death in 1917. Filmed at the Musee Rodin in Paris, at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., in Florence and Brussels, and at the Coubertin Foundry in St. Remyles-Chevreuse in France.
