Description: Directed and produced by Michael Blackwood Traces the life and work of this American contemporary artist from his student days at Black Montain College where he studied with Joseph Albers, to his assemblages of his discarded objects that resembled abstract expressionism in the 1950's, through his silkscreen work in the 1960's, and culminating in the retrospective of his work held in 1977 at the Museum of Modern Art. Includes footage of "Pelican," a dance performance by Rauschenberg, and interviews with Merce Cunningham and John Cage, who participated in the making of the film
