The birth of a colt arouses in Chico, a Mexican boy, an ambition to be a Charro. To give Chico a picture of what it is to be a Charro, his father tells his own story as a horseman and as the trainer of Ex-President Camacho's horse Pavo. Chico then begins learning to be a Charro by climbing on a burro.
