remember the end of World War I remember the rejoicing yes most of us are familiar with the human side of the war's ending when the Army came marching home but the Armistice had an economic aspect too its effects were powerful enough to touch the life of every American you don't see it in the faces of the throngs who cheer the returning soldiers rather it is seen here and here it's the the story of halted war production an end to war spending and War buying and it happened almost overnight the stopping of war production it came quickly the signal to readjust industry to peace tires guns trucks food fuel clothing all desperately needed a few weeks before became Surplus military Commodities when the whistles blew November 11th 1918
