Rembrandt. Part III: beyond art

Description: Episode of Series “Rembrandt”. Sir Kenneth Clark, eminent British art authority introduces the series of three films on the life and work of the Dutch painter, Rembrandt. In this last part, it shows how Rembrandt retained the moment of vision in all his paintings, and illustrates his marvellous ability for detail as exemplified in the fleyed ox. His many portraits show his intense self-insight and his humorous acceptance of life. His wonderful sense of balance and space is illustrated especially in “The Old Woman” and a group of “Important Men in Amsterdam”.
