Description: Defines regeneration as a developmental process and studies some examples and their controls. Shows animals that regenerate and tells of experiments that students might perform on stentor, hydra, planaria, earthworm, starfish, and others. Proclaims that hormonal control is important and, demonstrating regeneration in the arm of a newt, diagrams the action of the pituitary and the adrenal glands. Diagrams further the action of the nerve and leg tissue in regeneration. Concludes that in mammals' appendages the antlers of a deer are a fine example of regeneration.
