Complete Record: READING SELF-IMPROVEMENT is a series of six developmental reading films designed to motivate students to identify and strengthen areas of their reading that need improvement. All of the films begin in the school reading center, but each individual film focuses on a different student working on a different reading skill- showing the nature of the skill and its importance to effective reading, and offering some exercises for self-improvement in that area. COMPREHENSION involves seeing how phrases, sentences and paragraphs organize ideas. Arthur works on recognizing basic structural patterns of sentences and paragraphs, and outlining what is read to organize and remember ideas.
