Reading Development in the Secondary School (D)

Presents a high school classroom situation in which various techniques of developing reading skills are surveyed. Shows the use of the tachitoscope, the tape recorder, reading speed controllers, tests, and dictionaries. Describes general class activities, discussion groups, and individual study where comprehension, retention, timed reading, vocabulary building, reading for appreciation, and other goals are pursued.
