Description: Episode number 2 of Series “Atomic physics: an historical approach”. A five part series designed for use in the science departments of universities, technical colleges, and schools teaching advanced physics, tracing the development of atomic energy from the days when John Dalton put forward his atomic theory in 1808, until the present day.
