Description: Ray and Virginia Garner celebrated their 1938 wedding with a trip to Africa, sailing from Bellmore, Long Island. Some or all of the sea footage in this film may have been shot on theirvoyage from Belgium to Africa. This home movie features Ray & Ginny; they play a net game together; Ginny in hay wagon; Ginny doing dishes; Ray rock climbing; Ray & Ginny leaving their house; ship to Africa; Ray & Ginny swimming, diving, cavorting in ship's small swimming pool; angry seas, crossing equator ceremony with Ginny's face painted; Ray & Ginny kissing and playing on sunny deck; Ginny with still camera; shots of land as they arrive in Africa.  Ray & Ginny also  sailed from Antwerp aboard the SS Anversville, April 22, 1938, bound for Matadi, Congo, some of this footage may be from that trip as well. Daughter Gay Mackintosh says the Atlantic ship was posssibly the SS Baudouinville, built in 1939, 1940 seized by Germany as hospital ship, 1941 renamed Lindau, 1943 accommodation ship, 1944 scuttled at Nantes, later raised and scrapped., mentioned in Jinny's diary August 4, 1939, page. 251, 'Images Out of Africa."
